ABOUT THE ARCHIVES
Since 1955, Barton University Archives has received a multitude of awards for its exceptional program activities in supporting the mission, values, and vision of the University. By encouraging research in its holdings and preserving its diverse materials, BUA has established a reputation of excellence. BUA's holdings include paper, photographs, books, audio-visual, and digital materials. All of these materials are preserved because we dedicate ourselves as guardians of cultural heritage assets. As a result of our extraordinary preservation programs, the staff regularly consults with other cultural institutions and speak at professional meetings. Our staff is made up of dedicated and passionate individuals who feel a duty to share a significant amount of preservation tactics that each and everyone of you can implement into your work.

MEET THE TEAM
WHERE WE ARE

K.Sarah Ostrach
KS is our resident photo and negatives expert. She particularly loves color slides. When she’s not wearing gloves and handling negatives, she’s baking sourdough bread.

Sarah Hesler
Sarah is our book and paper expert. She loves working with scrapbooks and rare books. In her free time, she likes to go running, visit museums, and enjoy a cup of coffee with friends.

Billy Frederick
Billy is our in-house audio-visual and digital guru. Coming from a family of musicians, music is Billy’s first love - which makes audio recordings (both analog and digital) his main area of expertise. If he’s not dealing with A/V materials, Billy is probably reading comics while … listening to music.

Theana Kastens
Theana is our lead web designer and disaster preparedness
specialist. She enjoys foraging at farmers markets, expanding her massive book collection, painting in various mediums, and visiting museums.
